About the Role
  • The successful candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
  • You will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, and assembling and joining materials made of wood and other materials.
  • Additionally, you will build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Your attention to detail and ability to work independently will ensure that all projects are completed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Scheduling and co-ordinating work on sites
  • Maintaining, repairing and renovating residences and wooden structures
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
