About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Office/HR Manager to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of our facilities and office services departments, as well as various HR functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and coaching to team members
- Liaise with the Building Property Management team for building notices, repairs, and maintenance
- Drive health and safety team initiatives within the office
- Assist with planning and execution of local office social events and charitable initiatives
- Liaise with the local and national IT team on day-to-day IT issues
- Collaborate with the national HR team and support the administration of various HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, compensation, and employee relations
- Ensure compliance with Employment Standards of Quebec and Office québecois de la langue française (OQLF) requirements for French language in the workplace
- Foster a work environment that is inclusive, collaborative, and engaging
- Support compliance requirements for pay equity and training obligations
- Manage a team of legal administrative assistants, including share group team coordination and resource management
- Conduct new hire orientations and office tours, as well as exit interviews
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Human Resources Generalist role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment
- Bachelor's Degree and/or completion of a post-graduate Human Resources Program
- HRPA designation is considered an asset
- Previous supervisory and/or management experience is required
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, strategic leadership, coaching, facilitation, and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to partner with various stakeholders, listen, and build confidence
- Develop, coach, and motivate people, and foster a positive work environment
- Effective organizational, problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills
- Ability to perform well under time constraints and meet deadlines
- Ability to resolve problems effectively and exercise creative and analytical thinking
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to adapt to new technology and information systems
