Job Summary

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with all areas of production, including the feeding and general care of pigs, maintaining herd health and environment, and performing general maintenance and cleaning duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with feeding and general care of pigs
  • Maintain herd health and environment
  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning duties
  • Assist with inventory tracking and ordering feed and medication
  • Participate in team efforts to achieve production goals
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures
  • Follow Maple Leaf Foods' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding animal care

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to learn
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Positive work ethic and attitude
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to lift 25kg
  • Valid driver's license and ability to commute to work in a rural area
  • Weekend, holiday hours, and alarm attending required on a rotational basis
