About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Vegetable Farm Worker to join our team at Monette Farms Ltd. as an Agricultural Laborer - Vegetable Farming. As a Farmhand - Vegetable Crop Management, you will play a crucial role in the success of our vegetable farming operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vegetable Grading and Harvesting: Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume to fetch high prices in the market.
  • Hand Harvesting: Hand harvest vegetables to ensure quality and freshness.
  • Crop Management: Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops to promote healthy growth and high yields.
  • Weeding and Fertilization: Weeding and fertilizing crops to prevent pests and diseases.
  • Load and Unload: Load and unload crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry.
  • Quality Control: Examine product for quality and readiness for the market.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Maintain farm machinery, equipment, and buildings, and ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.
  • Heavy Lifting: Load and unload vehicles using a forklift or dolly, handling heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Work Environment

This is a seasonal job that requires working in a rural area with various locations. Staff accommodation is available. The work setting is varied, with repetitive tasks and handling heavy loads.

Requirements
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
  • Work Hours: 40 to 60 hours per week.
