Mortgage Underwriter

We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at First National. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will play a critical role in rendering credit decisions on incoming applications, ensuring adherence to company and insurer policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:- Adjudicate mortgage applications within established authority limits, ensuring sound risk assessments and service excellence.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with mortgage brokers, external partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Interact with Mortgage Insurers to complete credit lending decisions, ensuring due diligence and accuracy.
- Prioritize applications and workflow to meet service level agreements and turnaround times.
- Stay current with industry knowledge, competition, and market trends.
- Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of PC software in a Windows environment.
