Mortgage Underwriter

We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at First National. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving mortgage applications, ensuring that they meet our company's policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and analyze mortgage applications to ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines
- Make credit decisions on mortgage applications, taking into account risk factors and market trends
- Build and maintain positive relationships with mortgage brokers and other external partners
- Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge and market trends to ensure sound risk assessments
- Prioritize applications and workflow to ensure consistent and sound risk assessments are maintained
- Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of PC software in a Windows environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a high-volume processing environment with tight turnaround times
