Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Smart Grid Solutions Engineer to join our team at Rodan Energy Solutions. As a key member of our Grid Technology department, you will be responsible for assessing, developing, and enhancing new and existing technologies used to support the efficient operations of our distribution grid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Develop Grid Technologies: Evaluate and support the development of new technology, methodologies, and related business processes to enhance the reliability, durability, and flexibility of our grid.
  • Project Management: Manage and coordinate the successful completion of special projects, including project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Grid Technology Support: Provide technical support to our Grid Technology Support team, stations, and distribution field staff.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Create analysis workflows and associated business processes to benefit our customer departments.
  • Strategic Direction: Assist in setting the strategic direction for Grid Technology systems and applications.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work co-operatively with other technology teams to enhance system and application functionality, availability, and security.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited university (Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred).
  • Professional Certification: Professional Engineer, licensed or able to be licensed in the province of Ontario (P.Eng.).
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills; proficient in the use of office productivity and collaboration tools, preferably G Suite.
  • Experience: Recent grads with 4+ years' experience with EIT or P.Eng., or those with data or manufacturing experience.
Assets
  • Project Management Certification: Project Management and/or PMP Certification considered an asset.
  • Advanced Grid Applications: Experience with advanced grid applications (SCADA, ADMS, OMS, GIS) considered an asset.
  • Communication Skills: English essential, both oral and written; Bilingual (French/English) considered an asset.
