About the Position:

We are currently looking for a Grid Technology Specialist to join our team. The Grid Technology Specialist will be tasked with assessing and improving technologies that facilitate the efficient operation of our distribution network. This position will require collaboration with key departments to implement various initiatives aimed at enhancing reliability and optimizing asset investments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement solutions to improve Grid Technology systems and applications
  • Offer technical assistance to various departments and field personnel
  • Assess and oversee new Grid Technology initiatives
  • Analyze workflows to enhance departmental efficiency
  • Contribute to setting strategic direction for technology systems
  • Support the advancement of smart grid projects
  • Leverage data analytics to boost grid performance
  • Work with other teams to improve system functionality and security
  • Engage in budget planning and project oversight
  • Review new technology and equipment
  • Manage special projects as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license in Ontario
  • Proficiency in office productivity software
  • Previous experience in electric utility engineering
  • Project Management or PMP Certification is advantageous
  • Familiarity with advanced grid applications
  • Understanding of Fiber Optic and wireless communications technology
  • Excellent communication skills
