Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grid Technology Specialist to join our team at Rodan Energy Solutions. As a key member of our Grid Technology group, you will play a critical role in assessing, developing, and enhancing new and existing technologies used to support the efficient operations of our distribution grid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grid Technology Development: Identify and develop solutions that enhance the use of Grid Technology systems and applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to Grid Technology Support, stations, and distribution field staff, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues.
  • Project Management: Evaluate and manage new Grid Technology projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Analysis and Planning: Create analysis workflows and associated business processes for the benefit of customer departments, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Strategic Direction: Assist in setting strategic direction for Grid Technology systems and applications, aligning with company goals and objectives.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work co-operatively with other technology teams to enhance system and application functionality, availability, and security, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited university (Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred).
  • Professional Certification: Professional Engineer, licensed or able to be licensed in the province of Ontario (P.Eng.).
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills; proficient in the use of office productivity and collaboration tools, preferably G Suite.
  • Experience: Recent grads with 4+ years' experience with EIT or P.Eng., or those with data or manufacturing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Certification: Project Management and/or PMP Certification considered an asset.
  • Advanced Grid Applications: Experience with advanced grid applications (SCADA, ADMS, OMS, GIS) considered an asset.
  • Fibre Optic Communications: Knowledge of Fibre Optic communications technology (including planning and management) considered an asset.
  • Wireless Communications: Knowledge of wireless communications technology (LTE, fixed point-to-point, point-to-multipoint) considered an asset.
  • Electric Utility Experience: Experience in an electric utility engineering environment considered an asset.
