About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Pomerleau. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and clients on our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Plans: Create and implement comprehensive safety plans for all projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conduct Site Inspections: Regularly inspect project sites to identify potential hazards and ensure that all necessary safety protocols are in place.
  • Lead Incident Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and developing recommendations for improvement.
  • Train and Educate Staff: Provide training and education to project teams on health and safety procedures, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and Report Safety Metrics: Track and analyze safety metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and reporting to senior management.
Requirements
  • 3+ Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certification: Certification in occupational health and safety (OHSA) or a related field.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams, contractors, and clients.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer software applications, including project management tools and safety tracking systems.
What We Offer

Pomerleau offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience, plus an extensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development and growth.
