Health and Safety Director

Teck, a leading Canadian resource company, is seeking a seasoned Health and Safety Director to drive the development and implementation of health and safety strategies across the North American region. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations, North America, this critical role is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and support to operations in delivering health and safety objectives, policies, and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing health and safety strategies and policies aligned with Teck's vision and objectives.
- Providing coaching, leadership, and mentorship to operational health and safety teams.
- Collaborating with the corporate health and safety team to develop and implement health and safety processes and systems.
- Establishing health and safety objectives that consider operational priorities and are aligned with Teck objectives.
- Ensuring efficient processes and systems are established to measure and improve health, hygiene, and safety performance.
- Providing accurate, timely, and informed reporting of safety metrics to senior management.
