About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resource Specialist to join our team at Waterford Executive. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day activities related to Recruitment & Selection, Performance Management, Policy development, Communication and Information, Training & Development, and Employee Relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to employees by assisting in solving day-to-day concerns, while implementing company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee full-time and temporary recruitment and selection activities, including job postings, requisitions, internal and external searches, interviewing candidates, and preparing employment offers.
  • Lead, coordinate, and conduct employee orientation programs, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Develop and implement training and development initiatives, programs, and plans to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Support performance reviews, ensuring targets are met and following HR processes.
  • Administer disability programs, support Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) in modified work arrangements, incident/accident investigations, and audit action plans.
  • Administer progressive discipline, ensuring procedures and investigation processes are followed.
  • Manage employee records, including organization charts, training, benefits, and general employee information in employee files and HR systems.
  • Assist leaders in implementing company policies and procedures fairly and reasonably.
  • Participate in developing and updating company policies, programs, and the Employee Handbook, ensuring compliance with legislated requirements and company guidelines.
  • Member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and other committees as deemed necessary.
  • Prepare month-end charts and reports for HR action plans and key measurable as required.
  • Contribute to audit results and subsequent action plans.
  • Coordinate employee meetings, presentations, communication boards, and social events.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate or post-secondary education in Human Resources Management.
  • 5-10 years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Automotive experience is preferred.
  • Completion of Human Resources designation (CHRP) or working towards.
  • Working knowledge of current Employment Legislation, ESA, OHSA, AODA, and company policies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to read and write English fluently.
