About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Social Worker, you will provide collaborative, holistic care on the primary to quaternary care continuum, focusing on the relationships between people and their environments, which are integral to psychosocial, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized university, current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, and 2 years' post BSW related clinical experience. They will also have knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), previous experience working in adult community mental health, and demonstrated ability to use a client-/family-centered approach.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with various evidence-based treatment approaches for use with people with severe and persistent mental illness, such as Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Motivational Interviewing. They will also have demonstrated experience with group facilitation, ability to complete biopsychosocial assessments, excellent communication skills, and awareness of local community resources and agencies.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $33.96 - $42.89 Hourly, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
