Healthcare Social Worker

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing collaborative, holistic care to patients across the primary to quaternary care continuum.
Our ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized university and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers. A minimum of 2 years of post-BSW clinical experience is required, with a strong understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Previous experience working with clients with mental health concerns is preferred.
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate knowledge of various treatment theories and practices, including harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and stages of change. Experience with group facilitation and biopsychosocial assessments is also essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with community partners are a must.
The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage their time efficiently. A valid Nova Scotia Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $33.97 - $42.89 and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
