About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our team at IKO Industries Ltd. As a key member of our HSE department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to employees, management, and external stakeholders on HSE matters.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements and sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to stay informed on HSE trends and best practices.
  • Provide training and education to employees on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain HSE metrics and reporting to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CRSP, CMSE) and/or licensure (e.g., Professional Engineer) an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel (approximately 30% of the time).
