Job Title: Health, Safety, and Environment Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist to join our team at IKO Industries Ltd. As an HSE Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, contractors, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing HSE policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Liaise with plant staff, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in investigating incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain HSE documentation, including training records, incident reports, and compliance certificates.
  • Collaborate with the HSE team to develop and implement environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Provide support to the HSE Specialist in overseeing contractors and activities during on-site projects.

Qualifications, Skills, and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, laws, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong technical writing skills to create documents for an adult learning audience.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of HSE software and tools, such as MS Office, SharePoint, and HSE management systems.
