About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Team Member to join our team at 1926872 Alberta Ltd. o/a First Town Foods. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and other sweet goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards by inspecting kitchen and food service areas.
  • Production Scheduling: Draw up production schedules to meet customer demand.
  • Customer Service: Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods, including preparing special orders and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Work Setting: Supermarket or bakery department.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to distinguish between colours, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, hand-eye co-ordination, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, tight deadlines, and working under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, dependability, judgement, reliability, team player, and patience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Language: Langue de travail: Anglais.
  • Work Hours: Heures de travail: 30 to 40 hours per week.
