About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Team Member to join our team at Cobs Bread. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of breads, pastries, and other sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked bakery.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards by inspecting kitchen and food service areas and implementing quality control measures as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and work collaboratively with other team members to achieve bakery goals.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Work Setting: Our bakery is a fast-paced environment with a focus on producing high-quality products. We require our team members to be able to work in a physically demanding environment with tight deadlines.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, dependable, and a team player with excellent communication skills.
