About the Role

As a Strategic Product Design Lead at WillowTree, you will be responsible for leading design engagements for large and complex projects. You will drive the design direction and ensure that designs are on-brand, on-budget, and deliver on product strategy goals.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary team of Software Engineers, Researchers, Strategists, Creatives, and Project Managers
  • Lead ideation sessions, workshops, demos, and presentations with clients on-site
  • Establish design schedules and ensure final visual design concepts meet project requirements
  • Design products using all necessary tools, including sketch, wireframe, design, prototype, animate, and Figma
  • Collaborate with design peers to ensure designs are conceptually sound
  • Ensure content strategy and design are aligned
  • Build cohesive, lightweight, and purposeful design systems
  • Continuously iterate designs to stay current with mobile trends
  • Give and receive design critique to help refine and push work forward
  • Presentation of work to internal and external stakeholders, articulating design decisions
  • Mentor new product designers and interns on visual and interaction design, problem-solving, client communication, and team interaction

Qualifications
  • 5-7+ years of designing digital products
  • A portfolio showcasing strong visual design and a focus on defining the user experience
  • Proudly shipped and launched several products
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and advanced design principles
  • Conceptual thinker who can translate customer needs, behaviors, and project requirements
  • Effective presentation and communication of design decisions to clients and team members
  • Knowledgeable of modern digital platforms and platform design standards
  • Experience with and affinity for Figma
  • Empathetic to client needs and able to find solutions if problems arise
  • Commitment to being a trusted mentor and thought leader
Compensation

This position is eligible for a salary between $120,000 - $153,000 CAD per year. Compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons determined during the interview process.
