Job Summary

The Research Associate will support the Future Harvest Partnership's Farmer-Led Research (FLR) network in the Northwest Territories. This role is crucial for building a FLR program and supporting project partners in capacity building for food producers and community gardeners to conduct their own research and participate in research trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Connect with food producers and support their involvement in research trials and networking events.
  • Liaise with the Research Team and Task Teams to provide support for field tests and on-farm trials.
  • Develop farmer-led policy and procedure for long-term sustainability of the project's initiatives.
  • Compose and disseminate routine reports for the Research and Project Management Team meetings.
  • Other research activities, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by the PI.

Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred or relevant experience in Sustainable Agriculture, Agricultural Management, Geography, Environmental Studies, Biology, or other relevant subject area.
  • Experience supporting agrifood systems.
