Job Title: Yard Clerk

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Yard Clerk to join our team at Compass Transport Ltd. As a Yard Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, monitoring personnel workloads, and organizing warehouse and work areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work activities, including logs and reports.
  • Monitor personnel workloads and locations to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Organize and maintain a safe and efficient warehouse and work area.
  • Perform general office duties, including data entry and communication with team members.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of highway trucking rules and regulations.
  • Process and transmit information and instructions to coordinate the activities of vehicle operators and crews.
  • Record mileage, fuel use, repairs, and other expenses.
  • Schedule assignments and coordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews, and equipment.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of computer software and technology, including email and dispatching equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a warehouse and office environment.
  • May be required to work overtime, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Language:
  • English is the primary language of communication.
Work Schedule:
  • 35-40 hours per week.
