Job Title: Yard Operations Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Yard Operations Coordinator to join our team at Calgary Excavating and Trucking Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities of vehicle operators, crews, and equipment, ensuring efficient and safe operations in our yard. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the activities of vehicle operators, crews, and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations in the yard.
  • Monitor personnel workloads and locations to optimize productivity and minimize delays.
  • Organize warehouse and work areas to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Perform general office duties, including data entry and record-keeping.
  • Provide customer service and respond to urgent calls from individuals in life-threatening situations.
  • Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders, and respond to emergency situations as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations.
  • Process and transmit information and instructions to coordinate the activities of vehicle operators and crews using dispatching equipment.
  • Record mileage, fuel use, repairs, and other expenses.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience in transportation logistics or a related field is an asset.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of dispatch management service software and MS Windows.
Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
