Assistant Workshop Manager Job Description

The Assistant Workshop Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales growth, maintaining brand standards, and delivering operational excellence through effective leadership and team management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a high-performing team to consistently model Experience First standards and behaviors.
  • Communicate clear expectations and hold the store team and self-accountable for achieving brand, performance, and behavior standards.
  • Energize associates to ensure proper coverage, exceptional Guest service, completion of daily tasks, and adherence to company standards.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to associate teams.
  • Maintain a positive and motivational style in all communication and actions to promote productivity and ownership.
  • Drive associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding employees for outstanding performance.
  • Build a highly satisfied and loyal customer base through engagement, conversion, and capturing Guest information for the loyalty program.
  • Audit daily punches to ensure accuracy and compliance with BABW payroll and timekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and enforce all BABW store security and cash management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the store is always Grand Opening ready by following opening and closing procedures.
  • Operate and maintain all IT systems in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Use good judgment and partner with the Chief Workshop Manager to make necessary decisions within the company's guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as federal, state, local, and provincial laws.
  • Communicate any Guest service and/or associate issues to the Chief Workshop Manager in a timely fashion and collaborate on resolution of all issues.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the efficient and productive handling of all merchandise, including shipment receipt and processing, floor sets, markdown optimization, and replenishment systems while maintaining backroom Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Implement all visual merchandising plans and updates displays using BABW visual standard guidelines and store presentation tools.
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed and accidents are reported timely.
  • Partner with the Chief Workshop Manager in the execution of the short and long-term store business plans to drive results, improve profitability, and maximize business opportunities.
  • Participate in the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of employees as delegated by the Chief Workshop Manager.
  • Assist the Chief Workshop Manager to ensure compliance with all Federal, State/Provincial, and/or local laws and regulations that govern the store's operation.
  • Use good judgment and partner with the Chief Workshop Manager to make necessary decisions within the company's guidelines.
  • Proactively seek personal learning and development opportunities to build leadership skills and enhance individual performance.

Requirements:

  • Two + years of supervisory experience with a proven, successful track record in a customer-centric business, preferably in restaurant or specialty retail business.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent. College/University degree a plus.
  • Is ambitious and success-oriented.
  • Exceptional leadership and selling skills.
  • Models personal and professional integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Organized and planful; pays attention to details.
  • Is flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Fosters a high-energy environment and demonstrates an appreciation for children of all ages.
  • Balances the appropriate levels of warmth and dominance in their management style.
  • Proven success with training and developing associates in order to maximize their potential.
