Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Management Assistant to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our investment management team, you will be responsible for writing Investment Policy Statements and drafting client correspondence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write Investment Policy Statements and draft client correspondence
  • Assist in preparing presentations for the Portfolio Manager
  • Review asset mix and research tax and financial planning issues for clients
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve client inquiries and administrative errors
  • Manage account opening and documentation, maintain records and files, and attend client meetings as required
  • Proactively assist with client management of appointments and scheduled meetings/calls
  • Provide excellent customer service, respond to client inquiries, update client files, and prepare client presentation material
  • Prepare meeting material in advance and attend client meetings as required
  • Draft correspondence, update Investment Management Agreements, and assist in preparing Investment Policy Letters
  • Assist with securities trading as required and ensure daily reconciliation of trades are processed
  • Assist with Business Development activities by developing and managing marketing lists, helping with new account presentations, and preparing new prospect proposals
  • Prepare Investment Policy Statements, model, monitor, and rebalance portfolios
  • Ensure compliance with client mandate and portfolio models
  • Assist the Portfolio Manager and team with additional ad hoc administrative duties as needed
Requirements
  • University degree
  • Completion of either CIM or PFP or CFA Level 1
  • Experience in trading
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Attention to detail, excellent oral and written skills, and technologically savvy
