Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting will manage the day-to-day operation of the Accounting Office. Primary responsibilities include financial analysis and financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation, working capital and cash control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example.
  • Oversee internal, external and regulatory audit processes.
  • Ensure regular on-going communication occurs with employees to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance.
  • Celebrate successes by publicly recognizing the contributions of team members.
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Provide excellent leadership (e.g., differentiate top performers, foster teamwork and encourage work/life balance).
  • Ensure employees establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships within their team.
  • Participate in the employee performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed.
  • Ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process.
  • Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
  • Utilize an 'open door' policy.
  • Solicit employee feedback.

Requirements

  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; no work experience required.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and make sound business decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
