Our client, a growing utility company, is seeking a Business Development Director to lead account management and sales efforts in the utility space.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Initiating and conducting sales calls and presentations to established and prospective customers for all company services.
  • Creating relationships with contacts inside each utility at various levels, including senior executives.
  • Developing sales plans and schedules to ensure market coverage and appropriate contact frequency.
  • Coordinating with Operations to maintain existing accounts and projects.
  • Using customer and market intelligence to advise the Contracts team on proposal development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with related experience in sales and/or management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience in consultative sales and selling services, with a strong understanding of how to expand services into existing accounts.
  • Ability to respond to RFPs and understand contract language.
  • Strong leadership and self-motivational qualities.
  • Willingness to travel overnight.
