We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our Education Programs in the Qikiqtani Region. As a key member of our senior administrative team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest educational standards and services are provided to our community.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of education programs and services in the Qikiqtani Region
- Collaborate with the Assistant Deputy Minister, Education Programs, to achieve strategic objectives and contribute to the provision of high-quality educational services
- Provide leadership and guidance to senior administrative staff and educators to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational programs and services
- Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including Inuit organizations and local government
- Ensure compliance with Departmental policies and procedures, as well as relevant legislation and regulations
- Master's degree in Education, ideally with a specialization in Education Administration
- Minimum 5 years of experience in elementary and/or secondary education administration/management, including experience as a principal or Regional Office administrator
- 2 years of experience as a senior manager, such as Superintendent of schools
- Classroom teaching experience (elementary and/or secondary school) is also required
- Enrolled in or committed to completing an Educational Leadership program in Nunavut is an asset
- Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages (Inuktut, English, French)
- Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment
