About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Associate to join our team at the University of British Columbia, Faculty Relations. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for overseeing laboratory technical personnel, medical clinical personnel, graduate students, research scientists, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Research Activities
    • Provide guidance and oversight to laboratory technical personnel, medical clinical personnel, graduate students, research scientists, and other professionals.
    • Ensure that research activities are conducted in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Provide Expertise and Advice
    • Offer advice to senior managers and officials on research-related matters.
    • Provide input on research design, methodology, and data analysis.
  • Administrative and Reporting Tasks
    • Perform administrative tasks related to research projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
    • Prepare and submit reports on research progress, results, and recommendations.
  • Research and Development
    • Conduct literature reviews and stay up-to-date on the latest research developments in immunology and microbiology.
    • Develop and implement new research protocols and procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to advance research goals.
    • Communicate research findings and recommendations to senior managers, officials, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Earned doctorate degree in a relevant field, such as immunology, microbiology, or a related field.
  • Work Setting
    • Business and/or industry setting, with a focus on research and development.
  • Tasks
    • Supervise laboratory technical personnel, medical clinical personnel, graduate students, research scientists, and other professionals.
    • Provide advice to senior managers and officials.
    • Perform administrative tasks.
    • Produce reports.
    • Prepare research papers, educational texts, or articles.
    • Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, or symposia.
    • Monitor and compile research results.
    • Offer mentoring.
  • Research Experience
    • Experimental or quantitative research experience in immunology and microbiology.
  • Medical Specialization
    • Immunology and microbiology specialization.
  • Security and Safety
