The University of British Columbia is looking for a part-time hourly Clinical Research Associate to become a vital member of their research team. This role involves engaging in clinical investigations aimed at enhancing brain health, with a particular emphasis on exploring and applying lifestyle modifications, as well as disseminating research outcomes. The successful candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team framework, reporting directly to the Research Program Manager and the Principal Investigator.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and recruit potential participants for clinical studies, providing comprehensive information regarding the research initiatives.
- Evaluate patient eligibility and coordinate study appointments.
- Facilitate the informed consent process and conduct clinical evaluations.
- Input data into the research database while adhering to established data management protocols.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of research protocols and contribute to the publication of research findings.
- Conduct literature reviews and engage in scientific discussions at meetings and conferences.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Essential Qualifications
A high school diploma, supplemented by relevant training, along with a minimum of two years of related experience.
Desirable Qualifications
An undergraduate degree in a pertinent field is preferred. Previous experience in clinical research and an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with neurological conditions are beneficial. Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills are essential. The ability to work effectively both in a team setting and independently, coupled with a commitment to medical research and a desire to make a meaningful difference, is highly valued.
