Fraser Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wound and Skin Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert consultation and clinical leadership in wound prevention and management in residential care settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in wound and skin care to staff and residents/families
- Role model direct resident care skills to staff and students, ensuring compliance with standards of practice
- Deliver educational activities to staff, students, and residents/families on wound prevention and management
- Develop and implement education programs, orientation, and professional development programs for residential care staff and residents/families
- Perform advanced nursing skills in wound and skin care management
- Provide leadership and consultation to clinical staff and students on wound and skin care of residents
- Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities
- Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and other healthcare professionals/providers on resident/family issues
- Participate in research and special projects in wound and skin care
- Participate on designated local and regional program and professional committees
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Completion of the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course (IIWCC) or Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN) Course
- Three (3) years' recent experience in Wound and Skin Care within a residential/geriatric care setting, including one (1) year of education or leadership experience
- Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes
