Position Overview


A role as an HVAC Apprentice at Ainsworth (a GDI company) involves assisting in the installation, assembly, and repair of HVAC/R equipment and systems, including rooftop work, boilers, and chillers.


Responsibilities



  • Interpret and create drawings and specifications for HVAC/R equipment and systems.
  • Assist in installing HVAC/R-related equipment and components.
  • Overhaul and service HVAC/R units and systems.
  • Repair, replace, and adjust worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors, and water and vacuum pumps.
  • Repair and adjust valves, piping connections, fittings, and couplings.
  • Install motors, thermostats, and humidistats.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform job functions in a safe and healthful manner, following Health, Safety, and Environmental company policies and government legislation.
  • Adhere to the Company's Quality System operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications



  • High School degree, diploma, or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college.
  • Enrolled in an HVAC/R Apprenticeship Program (3rd to 4th year) with conduit experience.
  • Knowledge of the practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment of the plumbing trade.
  • Current Gas license G2 or greater.
  • A current and valid Ontario driver's license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
