We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Funeral Assistant to join our team at Park Lawn Corporation. As a Funeral Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional service to our clients and their families during their time of need.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with funeral services, including greeting visitors, coordinating pallbearers, and parking.
- Ensure that public spaces are clean and prepared prior to and after scheduled services.
- Assist client families in and out of limousines, with a focus on providing special attention to the handicapped and elderly.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including lifting and moving caskets and other equipment.
- Possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
- Be able to lift a minimum of 30lbs and occasionally lift in excess of 80lbs.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and differentiate the level of importance.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to handle emotional situations with professionalism and compassion.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, community leaders, and grieving client families.
- Ability to empathize with client families and their guests, and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Outdoor duties may require exposure to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, uneven ground, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
- Equipment used to perform the essential function of this position includes, but is not limited to; computer, fax, copier, multi-line phone system, AV system, body lift, casket handling/transport devices, personal or company-owned vehicle.
This position requires out-of-area and overnight travel.
