Elementary Math Coach for Part-Time Position

Part-Time Elementary Math Teacher/Tutor Wanted

We are seeking part-time teachers for a role in our learning centre at Oxford Learning Byron. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with students and are passionate about helping others build their math skills.

Teachers at Oxford Learning do not have to create lesson plans before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

The position requires availability during after-school hours, specifically two evenings a week from 4:00 pm. A commitment until the end of June 2025 is necessary. Reliability is essential.

This is an in-person role that requires commuting to the location. Relocation packages are not available, and vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage applicants who possess most of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the current Grade 5 to Grade 8 math curriculum
  • Excellent math skills

Experience:

  • At least two years of experience tutoring math to elementary-age students
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach, responsible for:

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

In this role, you will play a key part in helping students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem. The rewards of assisting children overcome academic hurdles and realize their inner potential can be very fulfilling. You will be rewarded with smiling faces during every shift.

This is a part-time job with an estimated salary range of $17 - $19 per hour.
