The Health Support Aide has an important role within the healthcare team and is responsible for helping with daily routines of care and to support patients/clients with activities of daily living.
The role may include:
- Providing basic care
- Specimen collection
- Other support functions under the guidance and direction of licensed healthcare professionals
We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Any previous related experience or related education would be an asset
- Knowledge of infection control procedures an asset
- Current BCLS
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention preferred
- Relevant first aid, first responder training i.e. St. John Ambulance course, HS lifeguard certificate, an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with patients/clients, hospital staff, public and referral sources
- Ability to work in a busy area and adapt to frequent interruptions in activities
- Maintains confidential information
- Demonstrated accountability, collaboration, and teamwork skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
