About the Opportunity

The Health Support Aide has an important role within the healthcare team and is responsible for helping with daily routines of care and to support patients/clients with activities of daily living.

The role may include:

  • Providing basic care
  • Specimen collection
  • Other support functions under the guidance and direction of licensed healthcare professionals
About You

We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:

  • Grade 12
  • Any previous related experience or related education would be an asset
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures an asset
  • Current BCLS
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention preferred
  • Relevant first aid, first responder training i.e. St. John Ambulance course, HS lifeguard certificate, an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with patients/clients, hospital staff, public and referral sources
  • Ability to work in a busy area and adapt to frequent interruptions in activities
  • Maintains confidential information
  • Demonstrated accountability, collaboration, and teamwork skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
