Job Summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team in Chesterfield Inlet. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will provide specialized care to individuals with mental illness and/or problems, concurrent disorders, addictions, and suicide ideations/attempts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical direction and front-line service in the community
  • Develop and implement care plans, conduct assessments, and provide medication administration and monitoring
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Participate in case management, conferencing, and crisis intervention

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a psychiatric nurse, with 5 years considered an asset
  • Eligibility to register with a professional government body in good standing
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a highly sensitive position and pass a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

Language of Work

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English, and French. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages is considered an asset.
