Public Health Nurse

Job Summary:
The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse to provide a full continuum of public health services to individuals in the community. The successful candidate will work within the context of the Department's Model of Care, focusing on maternal child health, school health, communicable diseases, and immunizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide public health services to individuals in the community, including health promotion, health protection, and disease/injury prevention activities.
- Work with others in the community to address public health issues and empower Nunavummiut to live healthy lives.
- Develop and implement public health programs based on the needs of the community.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community organizations to provide comprehensive healthcare services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing with a Certificate in Public Health.
- Minimum of two years public health nursing experience or related experience.
- Current CPR Level Certification and annual registration with a professional government body in good standing.
- Experience working in remote and isolated communities, Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) Skills Online courses, Canadian Nurse Association (CAN) and Canadian Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) certification are considered assets.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: $95,909 to $114,917 per year.
- 37.5 hours/week.
- Northern Allowance: $23,516.
- Recruitment bonuses: $5,000 on start date, $5,000 at 18 months of service, and $10,000 at 30 months of service.
- Additional premiums: $9,000 Annual Frontline Allowance and $375 Monthly Retention Bonus of $4,500 per year.
Eligibility:
- Nunavut Inuit who self-identify as being enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement in accordance with the Priority Hiring Policy will be given priority.
- Government of Nunavut employees serving a probationary period must obtain and provide written authorization from the deputy head of their employing department.
