Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse

Join the Government of Nunavut as a Psychiatric Nurse and make a difference in the lives of individuals with mental health needs.

About the Role:

The Psychiatric Nurse will work under the direction of the Supervisor Interdisciplinary Practice or designate to deliver specialized services to individuals with mental illness and/or problems, concurrent disorders, addictions, and suicide ideations/attempts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical direction and front-line service in the community
  • Develop care plans, manage cases, and conduct initial and ongoing assessments
  • Administer and monitor medications, and provide crisis intervention
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing with experience in mental health, or an undergraduate degree in Psychiatric Nursing and a minimum of 3 years of experience as a psychiatric nurse
  • Eligibility to register with a professional government body in good standing
  • Valid driver's license
  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
