About the Role:

This position reports directly to the Project Sales Supervisor and is part of the Nova Scotia Service team located in Dartmouth, NS. The role involves working on a wide range of design-build mechanical service projects, including Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Building Automation Controls, Energy & Sustainability Services, Gas/Propane, and Oil work in the commercial, retail, manufacturing, and institutional markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Project sales and negotiation with clients following our specific sales approach.
  • Preparing estimates for our service offerings and collaborating with internal teams to develop customized solutions for clients.
  • Preparing and presenting personalized written proposals, including energy analysis and cost justifications, for existing and new clients.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Providing technical support to peers and field staff as an expert.
  • Liaising, consulting, and communicating with our business partners, including suppliers, subcontractors, utilities, inspectors, consultants, and Efficiency Nova Scotia.
  • Supporting our service group and maintaining strong communications with the technicians in the field.
  • Managing customer accounts and visiting potential and existing accounts to maintain and generate business.
  • Arranging for the purchasing of materials and assisting in the scheduling, planning, and implementation of secured projects.
  • Traveling to various sites or clients to undertake the above tasks within Nova Scotia.
  • Being accountable for tracking developed and potential opportunities within our sales tracking interface (SalesForce).

Education Requirements:

  • A graduate of a mechanical engineering or technology program would be an asset.
  • Years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in the construction mechanical and/or HVAC industry may substitute for education requirements.
  • Experience in the HVAC industry in a similar sales role would be an asset.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • A background in HVAC would be considered an asset.
  • Previous sales and customer service experience would be considered an asset.
  • Estimating experience would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience within the service business would be considered an asset.

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of mechanical HVAC, controls, piping, and related equipment.
  • Motivated and able to work with deadlines.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Long-term stability.
