About the Role

EXP is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our team in Ottawa or Kingston, ON. As a key member of our environmental consulting team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), excess soil, remediation projects, and related environmental studies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the planning and execution of environmental projects, including ESAs, remediation programs, and excess soil management plans.
  2. Develop and manage project budgets, track costs, and ensure timely completion of projects.
  3. Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
  4. Conduct fieldwork, including site assessments and remediation activities.
  5. Evaluate data and propose solutions to clients.
  6. Prepare technical reports and review the work of junior staff.
  7. Train and mentor junior staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
  8. Participate in business development activities to grow the company's environmental consulting services.
Requirements
  1. 5 years of experience in environmental site assessments, soil management, and/or remediation.
  2. University degree in a related field, such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, or Geology.
  3. Licensure or potential for licensure for a professional designation in Ontario (or equivalent designation from another Province or the US).
  4. Experience conducting Phase I and II ESAs, remediation programs, excess soil management plans, remediation design, and/or hydrogeology.
  5. Understanding of applicable provincial and federal legislation and guidance documents.
  6. Experience in budget management, report preparation, and client relationship management.
  7. Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with advanced technical writing abilities.
  9. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
  10. Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and propose creative solutions.
  11. Ability to converse and/or write in French is an asset.
