About the Role

Closing the Gap Healthcare Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Speech-Language Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our School-Based Rehabilitation Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children with rehabilitation needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver care to children with rehabilitation needs in our School-Based Rehabilitation Program, working in a dynamic environment and facilitating relationships between families, schools, and local healthcare systems.
  • Work collaboratively to provide patient care both virtually and in-person, utilizing your expertise to assess and treat pediatric clients with various needs.
  • Provide services involving short-term consultation, training, and intervention for specific rehabilitation needs, including speech sound delays and disorders, motor speech challenges, stuttering, and voice disorders.
  • Assess and treat pediatric clients with various needs, utilizing your knowledge and skills to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Thrive in a self-starting environment, working well under minimal supervision and demonstrating reliability while working independently.
  • Add, assign, and supervise Communication Disorders Assistants (CDAs) as clinically appropriate.
Requirements
  • Be a highly energetic and enthusiastic individual who loves to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Have a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and policies applicable to practice.
  • Know principles of reflective practice and utilize a systematic approach to decision-making during the development, implementation, and evaluation of clients.
  • Be safety-focused and accountable, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Have the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including families, schools, and local healthcare systems.
  • Hold current registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Have a current valid G2/G driving license and access to a reliable insured vehicle.
  • Ability to speak French would be considered an asset.
