Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Communicative Disorders Assistant to join our team in the Durham Region. The successful candidate will provide speech therapy under the guidance and supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist, working directly with clients of various ages and backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to clients under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Work with clients from diverse backgrounds and specialized populations.
- Collaborate and consult with Speech Language Pathologists and other practitioners.
- Develop and implement therapy materials as needed.
- Provide families with resources, information, and home programs.
- Assist with parent and client workshops.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current in the field.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant Program.
- Member of the Canadian Association of Communicative Disorders Assistants.
- Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
