Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team at InterRent REIT. As a key member of our payroll and benefits team, you will be responsible for processing payroll and maintaining employee databases for our multi-residential properties across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Payroll Processing: Process payroll for approximately 500 employees in three provinces, including related government remittances, and ensure timely and accurate payment.
  2. Investigation and Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring minimal disruption to employees and the business.
  3. Reporting and Analytics: Create and execute reports for review and reporting purposes, providing insights to management on payroll trends and areas for improvement.
  4. Benefits Administration: Assist in the administration of our benefits program, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
  5. HR Support: Provide HR support to employees, including new hire onboarding, employee transfers, and promotions.
Requirements
  1. Full Cycle Payroll Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing, including payroll administration, compliance, and reporting.
  2. PCP Certification: Possession of PCP certification or in the process of obtaining it.
  3. Payroll Software Experience: Experience with Dayforce HCM/Ceridian or similar payroll software.
  4. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and French is required.
  5. Labour Legislation Knowledge: Knowledge of Quebec, Ontario, and BC labour legislation.
  6. Discretion and Confidentiality: Ability to exercise discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential employee information.
  7. Time Management: Ability to meet deadlines and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
