Executive Chef Assistant

Job Summary:
The Demi Chef de Partie is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for the day-to-day operation of their designated station. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare, season, and cook food following special dietary instructions where required.
- Recipe Execution: Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure high-quality dishes.
- Team Leadership: Provide direction to Commis Chefs and support the Chef de Partie in managing the station.
- Menu Creation: Assist in the creation of menus and ensure that dishes are prepared to the highest standard.
- Equipment Operation: Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Station Maintenance: Ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to all sanitation and food production procedures and codes, and assist with the enforcement of Health & Safety protocols.
- Inventory Management: Assist with ordering and work within budgeted guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Culinary Experience: Culinary degree and 2 years of cooking experience OR 5 years of related cooking experience.
- Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a leadership role in the kitchen.
- Certifications: Valid food handler certificate.
- Physical Demands: Able to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
