Salary

The hourly rate for this part-time Member Service Representative position starts at $19.97. However, actual hourly rates may vary based on relevant job-related factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and education/training. As part of our comprehensive compensation package, you may be eligible for incentive compensation tied to company and individual performance or other benefits.

Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities

As a Member Service Representative, you will be the front-line representative of our credit union, responsible for providing exceptional service to our members. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delighting each member by providing outstanding service, answering inquiries, and increasing member satisfaction.
  • Promoting DUCA's full range of services, explaining benefits and features, opening new member accounts, and making quality referrals to advisors.
  • Making outbound awareness and service follow-up calls to members, as well as proactive outbound calls to book advisor appointments.
  • Handling member requests for deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other routine transactions.
  • Identifying and fulfilling members' financial service needs, such as cashing and certifying cheques, processing bill payments, ordering cheques, buying/selling foreign currencies, and processing wires, RRSP, and term deposit transactions.
  • Solving member issues using standard procedures and knowing when to escalate non-standard issues.
  • Remaining current and up-to-date on DUCA products, services, operational, and risk policies and procedures.
  • Participating in local market business development opportunities and community initiatives.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining cash balances, listing and balancing outgoing cheques, and balancing all daily transactions. You will also need to ensure that you are aware of and adhere to operating procedures and policies to safeguard the assets of the organization and its members.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (an undergraduate degree or equivalent is preferred).
  • Experience working with and handling cash.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems.
  • Two years' experience helping members or customers in a bank or credit union environment (previous experience with sales is considered an asset).
