Key Responsibilities- Estimate labour costs and maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff, ensuring a high level of culinary expertise throughout the kitchen.
- Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food, promoting a culture of excellence in culinary skills.
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets, exceeding client expectations with exceptional cuisine.
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions, providing expert advice on menu planning and culinary execution.
- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants, ensuring consistency and quality across all locations.
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, prioritizing their safety and satisfaction.
- Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks, fostering a collaborative and productive kitchen environment.
- Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and strong organizational skills.
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in culinary arts and leadership.
