Dean, Health Sciences and Community Services

RRC Polytechnic is a leader in applied learning and innovation, seeking a visionary leader to drive the success of our Health Sciences and Community Services school.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the school, ensuring alignment with the college's academic and applied research plans.
- Develop and implement an annual operational plan for the school, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Champion a culture that fosters excellence in program development and delivery, with a focus on meeting current and emerging sector and community labour market needs.
- Ensure the school operates collaboratively, promoting inter- and intra-school and department communications, respect, and collegial relations.
- Develop and nurture close relationships with external partners, organizations, and stakeholders, supporting the advancement activities of the polytechnic.
- Implement and report on quality assurance benchmarks for the school and its academic department operations.
- Promote a culture of great teaching and learning, facilitating a collaborative approach to achieve school goals.
- Participate in fundraising and friend-raising for major capital projects, as appropriate.
- A graduate degree in a related discipline, with a combination of 7 years of education and recent, relevant senior leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success as a dynamic, innovative leader at a senior level, with a proven track record of driving change and achieving results.
- Demonstrated commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, anti-racism, social justice, diversity, and creating inclusive communities.
- Genuine love for teaching, with hands-on experience and a passion for education.
- Human resource management experience, including supervisory experience in an academic, unionized environment.
- Experience with and skilled at change management, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
- Adaptive thinking, with the ability to discern innovative solutions to new and emerging challenges.
- Experience in organizational planning, project and change management, and financial management at the corporate or institutional level.
- Experience implementing strategic plans, including performance management goals and objectives.
- A collaborative management style, with a demonstrated strength in customer service, delivering results, handling complexity, and thinking globally.
- Excellent interpersonal and group facilitative skills, with the ability to initiate and develop effective partnerships and alliances.
- Innovative and creative problem-solving, with a commitment to quality, service, and accountability.
- Experience developing and implementing formal staff training or academic programs, with a student-centered approach to learning.
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning, and continuous improvement.
A competitive compensation package, including an attractive base salary and excellent benefits. The salary range is $129,820 to $173,836. Further details will be discussed in a personal interview.
