Assembly Technician Job Summary:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Kitting/Assembly, the Assembly Technician will perform various production and assembly duties throughout the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock work stations with necessary materials and tools.
  • Review work orders to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
  • Report material shortages to the production team.
  • Mark, record and report defects to ensure quality control.
  • Operate measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Read assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts list in preparation for work to be done.
  • Assemble parts and components together using hand and power tools.
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Perform other kitting and assembly duties as required.

Education, Experience and Knowledge Required:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
