Job Opportunity: Corporate Counsel - Health Sector

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to join our team at Shared Health, a leading healthcare organization in Manitoba. As a key member of our Commercial Practice Group, you will provide legal services in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment and be responsible for managing and conducting a variety of corporate and commercial work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal services in a collaborative team environment
  • Manage and conduct corporate and commercial work, including drafting, reviewing, and providing legal advice on contracts and commercial transactions
  • Oversee a broad range of matters, including agreements of purchase or sale, student placement agreements, funding agreements, research agreements, and more
  • Anticipate and identify legal issues and provide support to senior legal counsel and management to develop legal strategies and solutions
  • Provide advice on privacy and access legislation applicable to the healthcare sector and assist in the development or review of organizational policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • At least two (2) years of experience in the practice of corporate or commercial law
  • Ability to draft contracts and specifications/deliverables, legal opinions, and other commercial documents
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
