We are reimagining passenger rail service on behalf of the Government of Canada. Our goal is to create a new sustainable train network that will run faster, more often, and be more reliable between Toronto and Quebec City.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the engineering aspects of our project, focusing on tracks, signaling, power systems, and integration with rolling stock.

As Rail Engineering Vice President, you will provide strategic direction and leadership for all rail, engineering, and integration activities. You will oversee the development and delivery of our project within scope, budget, and schedule.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of rail design and construction, excellent analytical and collaboration abilities, and strong interpersonal skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic direction and leadership for rail, engineering, and integration activities
  • Overseeing the engineering aspects of the railway system, focusing on tracks, signaling, power systems, and integration with rolling stock
  • Building and leading a team of engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure project goals are met within budget and schedule
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure seamless operation and optimal performance of the rail system
  • Developing and executing comprehensive project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation strategies
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards related to rail engineering and construction
  • Managing cost estimates for rail, engineering, and integration activities
  • Identifying potential project-related risks and developing mitigation strategies

We offer a competitive salary in the range of $180,000-$220,000 per year, depending on experience.

A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is required. Professional engineer status and additional qualifications in project management are desirable.

Minimum 15 years of experience in the design and development of linear projects, preferably in rail, transportation, or construction projects. Excellent leadership, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
