We are seeking an experienced Simulation Architect to join our team. This is a full-time position based in [insert location].

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled simulation architect to develop and maintain complex simulations of our vehicles. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Gazebo and ROS, as well as a strong background in modern C++.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Creating high-fidelity simulations of new and existing vehicles and sensors
- Developing robust, future-proof, and performant C++ software
- Collaborating with the Engineering Tools team to automate tasks and improve efficiency
- Evaluating the fitness and performance of algorithms and implementations
- Leading multi-disciplinary feature teams and solving unforeseen technical challenges
Required skills and qualifications include:
- 5+ years of experience in Gazebo and ROS
- 5+ years of experience in modern C++ with demonstrable knowledge of software design and development principles
- Practical experience with robot sensing, control, simulation, physics engines, and numerical methods
- Strong project management skills including scope planning, risk mitigation, and timeline management
- Understanding of sensors and their error models (particularly LiDAR and vision systems)
Bonus points will be given for experience with system identification, vehicle kinematics/dynamics, actuators, and drive controllers. Additionally, experience with Python, Lua, Rust, and CUDA is a plus.
